Audrey Lavon Polson is the thirteenth-oldest child.
The last of Robert’s siblings to be born was Audrey Lavon Polson (January 8th, 1922 – November 8th, 1993). Like Charles, it is possible that Audrey never experienced rural county life, experiencing his childhood only inside Laurel. He first appears in the 1930 census as the second-youngest child in the Polson household. Also like Charles, he attended school to the eighth grade before going into the work force, taking a job as a salesman at a grocery store.
By the time Audrey registered for the Draft on June 30th, 1942, he lived at 329 14th Avenue like his older brothers. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class.
After World War II, Audrey lived in Texas for a time, where already by 1948 he was married to Anice F. Holifield Polson (~1929 – ?), and where on November 6th of that year, their first daughter Barbara Lynn was born. She was specifically born in Jefferson County, east of Houston.
When 1950 came, Audrey and Anice were raising their family at 320 Walnut Street, Monroe, Louisiana. Their second and final child, Wanda J, had been born roughly the same year in Mississippi. They would continue to live in Monroe for at least another three years. By Ernestine’s death in 1981, the family had moved back to Laurel. Audrey’s final address would be 912 North 11th Avenue, Laurel, in 1993, when in that year he died at the age of seventy-one. He was buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
